Our Fundraising Needs: "Grow LBD"
We are excited to announce the launch of our fundraising campaign: “Grow LbD”. “Grow LbD” is the first major school fundraiser that we are embarking on this year and it requires us to work together to meet the lofty financial goals that we have for our school. This year, we need to raise a total of $150,000!
I bet you are wondering: “Why is the goal so BIG?” The answer is simple - we have BIG dreams and goals for our school and our kids!
Here are some specific ways your gifts
can help Learning by Design:
Teaching
Assistants
Small student/teacher ratios is our goal. Each class has a minimum of 2 learning facilitators (Teacher and Teaching Assistant).
This is how we are able to give each student the personalized attention they need to ensure academic success and socio-emotional support and development. Help us keep a full time Teaching Assistant in all the classrooms at LbD ($50,000).
Innovation
Lab
This is where the magic happens! The students engage in engineering, coding and design activities on a regular basis.
We need more iPads, 3D printers, arduinos, laser cutters, Virtual Reality equipment, and more. Innovation also include annual Capstone Projects for each grade level.
These efforts require the expertise and focused attention of an Innovation Specialist ($50,000).
Afterschool and Enrichment Programs
Not only are we providing after care for ALL of our students, we are providing them with enrichment classes such as art, sports, STEAM, music, chess, entrepreneurship, gardening, mindfulness classes and field trips to enrich their educational experiences ($30,000).

Zen Room
With a focus on more Restorative and Mindfulness practices as a way to develop and empower our students, we have designed space for children to use cool down, reset, self-reflect, and engage in mindfulness practices as needed. We need to "zen" this space out with soft and warm rugs, furniture, yoga mats, and "cool down" activities ($5,000)
Library
Literacy is the key to all things possible! Help us create a learning space the is literacy rich, inviting, encouraging, safe and fun for our kiddos to read, read, read!
This will be a place for parents to gather and for teachers to work and for small group support for kiddos as well.
Help us make a special place for our students, families, and teachers to meet to work, plan, read, and gather for events and celebrations ($15,000).
